Harrisburg, PA—D&H Distributing, a major consumer electronics and computer products distribution company, is demonstrating its commitment to new technologies by offering a series of Micro Four Thirds and mirrorless interchangeable-lens digital cameras.

These compact cameras eliminate the bulky “reflection”-based components of the traditional single-lens reflex (SLR) camera (mirror, mirror box, prism), making it possible to introduce smaller bodies. The mirrorless designs offer digital SLR features and performance in a more portable, lightweight form paired with interchangeable-lens capability.

D&H now carries several of these new compact system cameras, including the just-launched Nikon 1 V1 and J1 models. Other examples include: the Panasonic Lumix DMC-GF3 and DMC-G3, each with a 3.0-inch LCD viewfinder; the Sony Alpha NEX-3 and NEX-5 cameras; and the Olympus Pen models. Some of these entries offer HD video capabilities and range up to 16 megapixels for still images. And while they are as diminutive as a typical point-and-shoot version, the quality and versatility of a mirrorless, interchangeable-lens camera is beyond the capability of the point-and-shoot category.

“D&H is committed to delivering leading-edge technologies as trends emerge, to give our customers a competitive edge. That investment is part of the value we offer as a distribution partner,” said Rob Eby, vice president, Purchasing, D&H Distributing.  “Mirrorless cameras fit that mold. They are advancing the category and offering the best of the other genres that came before them, so we want our photo retailers and dealers to profit from this budding trend.” dandh.com
