Toshiba this week announced its entrance into the digital photo frame market, with the first Digital Media Frames. Through a partnership with FrameChannel, the frames will deliver various real-time services, including weather reports, and home-connected music and video.

"Toshiba is dedicated to creating innovative and entertaining products to enhance the needs of today’s connected home," Jodi Sally, vice president of marketing for Toshib’s Digital A/V Group, said as part of the announcement. "Our new Digital Media Frames allow the user to not only display and share photos, but also customize their frame with personalized digital content, all in one sleek package."

The 8-inch frame, which comes in black and white, will cost $179.99, while the black 10-inch frame will cost $229.99. All three frames will arrive in August.
