Clearwater, FL—Through a partnership with Apple, Tech Data Corporation introduced a warranty tool called TDWarranty that enables real-time activation of AppleCare protection plans when purchasing Apple products through Tech Data. Incorporated in the ordering process, AppleCare plans are available to Tech Data’s channel of authorized Apple resellers.

TDWarranty incorporates automated, real-time activation of AppleCare plans, working in tandem with Apple to check serial numbers, hardware and warranty registration to ensure greater accuracy during the ordering process. When adding AppleCare to an order, the process is streamlined through Tech Data, both in retail and commercial business lines. Solution providers can now ship Macs or iPads from Tech Data directly to the end user, with Tech Data providing coverage through purchase of the protection plan. Retail partners can sell AppleCare at point of sale (POS) to end users using techdata.com or by loading Tech Data XML into their POS system. The proof of coverage will then be sent to the end user within 24 hours.
