San Francisco, CA—Taopix, manufacturer of a leading photo book and gift software platform, revealed that recent hire and digital product design expert Stu Marlow was instrumental in the design of Taopix Version 5. Marlow presented Taopix Mobile at the Mobile Photo Connect Conference in San Francisco.

Taopix, whose photo book platform gives businesses within the industry the tools to control their own software and manage their photo gift offerings, appointed Marlow earlier this year. The software development company also announced that Marlow led the R&D process to bring three all-new user journeys into the Taopix platform, including device-agnostic photo book creation and photo print ordering.

“We’re always pushing to further improve the experience for consumers using our software platforms to order and create personalized photo gifts. We’re passionate about product design, and we’re delighted to have someone as talented as Stu on board with our creative and development teams here at Taopix,” said James Gray, Taopix’s CEO.

Taopix Version 5 includes Taopix Mobile, a mobile web-optimized designer application that comes with Taopix Online, and an HTML5-based designer application. In addition, the company previewed v5 of the Taopix Desktop professional download application and new photo book and gift design templates.

“We’ve spent a great deal of time researching and focusing on how consumers want to buy and design simple photo gifts and books on their tablet and mobile devices, including how this experience differs per device,” added Gray. “For this release of Taopix Online with Mobile, we’ve concentrated on dedicated user journeys for specific devices, tablets and phones and specific products; single prints, themed ready books, quick books and simple personalized photo gifts.

“With Taopix Online we’ve focused on creating a flexible wizard tool that allows business to set up, edit and publish their own products and provide the consumer with an online photo gift design and purchasing experience dedicated to the type of product they’re purchasing and the device they are currently using. Our sole aim was to take the user on a journey that’s so beautifully simple, it makes them want to come back and do it again and again.”

With Taopix Mobile, consumers can use its intelligent autofill so that Taopix automatically creates a book as soon as users select their photos. They can also image enhance all pictures in one click, using TaoPix’s Perfectly Clear integration. And, the company designed mobile-optimized account pages and a shopping cart to provide a quick m-commerce experience, with opportunities to up-sell included in the product.

Businesses using the Taopix v5 platform can choose what products they want to sell, what platform they offer it on (desktop/mobile/tablet) and allow customers to design it on a device of their choice. Gray revealed that the Taopix in-house development also made key enhancements within the back end of the photo gift software platform. taopix.com
