San Diego, CA—Sony’s newest Cyber-shot P&S cameras deliver a range of capabilities to make it easier for consumers to shoot and share their memories. The five models—the WX80, W730, W710, TF1 and H200—share a variety of new features for the Cyber-shot line.

These features include an advanced flash that boosts the cameras’ sensitivity and extends the flash range; a beauty effect function with post-shooting retouch options like skin toning and smoothing, teeth whitening, eye widening and shine removal; and 360 sweep panorama mode (previously available on a few Cyber-shot models, it will now be offered throughout the entire line ).

Headlining the new models is the Cyber-shot DSC-WX80. This ultracompact camera has a 16.2MP Exmor R CMOS sensor, an 8x, 25–200mm optical zoom lens with 16x Clear Image digital zoom and Optical SteadyShot for blur-free photos.

Its “superior auto shooting” mode now recognizes and optimizes settings in a wider range of situations, including very low light and when a subject is in fast motion, and it boasts 10-fps burst shooting.

The WX80 is Wi-Fi capable, allowing users to send images and MP4 clips wirelessly to a smartphone or tablet through Sony’s PlayMemories Mobile app. Shooters can also use their phone to control basic camera functions, and images can be viewed wirelessly on a networked TV or PC. The WX80 is also compatible with TriLuminous Color, an expanded range of ultrarealistic colors available on select Sony Bravia TVs. Photos and Full HD (1020x1080i) videos shot with the camera can be experienced in these colors when connected to compatible televisions.

The DSC-WX80 is available in red, black and white for $199. sony.com
