Sony Issues Camera Warning

Sony this week discovered a problem with one of its Cyber-shot cameras, which may prevent them from working properly, and as a result has extended their warranties by two years.

“Sony has discovered that some DSC-T20 Cyber-shot cameras sold in the United States may experience an issue with abnormal internal vibration and an inability to properly focus and take pictures,” the company said on its support Web site on Wednesday. The problems were attributed to a failure in the lens mechanism, and it applies to “pink or silver cameras with serial numbers between 500001 and 525350.”

The company has made repairs free through July 17, 2011.
