San Diego, CA—Sony’s Bloggie Live—the first Full HD pocket camera capable of live video streaming with built-in Wi-Fi—offers simple capture and share features. The Bloggie Live (MHS-TS55) captures Full HD video and 12.8MP photos, has a stereo mic, an LED light, and provides live streaming via built-in Wi-Fi. The device streams in real-time in collaboration with Qik Video, a mobile video-sharing service from Skype.

Once streaming begins, friends and family can view the video instantly on a computer, smartphone or tablet. Comments from the virtual audience are displayed on its 3.0-inch capacitive touch screen, even while shooting and streaming. The TS55 works with any Wi-Fi hotspot and directly uploads to sites like Facebook, YouTube and PlayMemories Online, a network service by Sony (available spring 2012) that lets users view their content from various devices, like a smartphone, tablet or TV, at anytime.

The Bloggie Live is also designed to complement smartphones and tablets; the PlayMemories Mobile app, a free download from Android Market and the iTunes app store, enables users to wirelessly transfer files from the camera to a phone or tablet. (Sony is partnering with Verizon to offer a $50 debit card to customers who purchase a Bloggie Live, as well as a Verizon Jetpack 4G LTE mobile hotspot device with a two-year contract, by April 9.)

Other features include: dual video and photo capture; autofocus/auto macro; SteadyShot image stabilization; face detection; a built-in USB arm for charging/uploading; 8GB of internal memory; and HDMI output. $250. sony.com
