Minneapolis, MN—Polaroid appointed Scott W. Hardy CEO of the company. Hardy will retain his title of president, while assuming responsibility for the strategic direction for Polaroid moving forward.

“As president and CEO of Polaroid, Scott now assumes the very special responsibility as steward of this iconic American brand. We didn’t buy Polaroid simply to take a walk down memory lane. Polaroid has always stood for innovation and cutting-edge products,” said Bobby Sager, chairman of Polaroid’s board of directors. “With Scott’s long tenure at Polaroid, he is uniquely qualified to reach back into our proud history and reimagine Polaroid for the 21st century. As president, Scott has overseen the tremendous resurgence of the Polaroid brand over the past few years and we greatly look forward to his visionary leadership as our CEO.”

During his tenure at Polaroid, Hardy has implemented business strategies that delivered differentiation, rapid growth and strong bottom-line results in a competitive market, added Sager. As the president of Polaroid since 2009, Hardy has been responsible for leading all aspects of Polaroid’s transformation into a brand licensing and marketing company. In his new position, he is poised to lead the company into a new era, and author the next chapter in the iconic brand’s story.

Prior to joining Polaroid in 2004, Hardy held various leadership positions at Dell; most recently leading product marketing for the multibillion-dollar Displays line of business, which included CRT and LCD monitors, DLP projectors, and LCD and Plasma televisions. Previously, Hardy worked in product marketing at Intel Corporation. polaroid.com
