Olympus Names Head of HQ Legal/Global General Counsel & Chief Compliance Officer

The moves are part of the company’s continued globalization and are meant to reinforce its commitment to an increasingly proactive approach to rapidly changing international markets. The promotions further underscore the importance of the compliance and legal departments in meeting company objectives.

Donna Miller

Donna Miller, who joined Olympus in 2006, was named Olympus Corporation’s head of HQ Legal and global general counsel. She is being promoted to this global position from her current role of general counsel of Olympus Corporation of the Americas (OCA). Miller will report to Kiichi Hirata, chief administrative officer at the corporation’s headquarters in Tokyo, Japan. She will continue to serve as general counsel for OCA, initially dividing her time evenly between her current and new positions. She will be supported by the global headquarters and regional legal departments to manage the global and regional responsibilities respectively.

Caroline West

Caroline West was appointed Olympus Corporation’s global chief compliance officer. She is promoted to this global position from her current role of chief compliance officer of OCA. She will report to Hiro Sasa, president and representative director. West will manage a staff in Tokyo and the company’s regional compliance departments to continue to enhance the company’s global compliance programs.
