Melville, NY—Nikon added to its Coolpix line of compact point-and-shoot cameras with four models: the 60x zoom Coolpix P600, 42x zoom P530, ultraslim 30x zoom S9700 and the Coolpix P340.

“Incorporating legendary Nikkor optics, these new Coolpix cameras provide users with incredible zoom capability and low-light performance that helps produce unrivaled sharpness and detail in their photos and HD videos,” said Masahiro Horie, director, Marketing and Planning, Nikon Inc. “Users will enjoy capturing amazing photos and Full HD videos from a distance, along with the ability to share unforgettable moments with family and friends instantly.”

Coolpix P600. Pushing Nikkor optics to greater lengths, the P600 boasts a 60x optical zoom from a wide-angle 24mm to an impressive 1,440mm-equivalent range with the capability to reach further using its 120x dynamic fine zoom function. Lens-shift vibration reduction (VR) image stabilization is incorporated to help reduce the effects of camera shake, even when capturing photos from incredible distances. Once capture, the images can be transferred to a compatible smart device using built-in Wi-Fi connectivity, and uploaded to social networks.

Other P600 features include: a high-resolution (921k-dot), 3.0-inch vari-angle LCD that lets users shoot above a crowd or get low to capture a baby’s first steps; a 16.1 megapixel backside illuminated (BSI) CMOS sensor; Full HD 1080/60i video recording; full manual controls (PSAM); an electronic viewfinder; the new moon and bird-watching mode; and an improved battery life that allows 330 shots per charge. The P600 comes in black and red for a suggested retail price $499.95.

Coolpix P530. Featuring a 42x optical zoom with a 24–1,000mm range (equivalent) and 84x dynamic fine zoom, the P530 also employs VR image stabilization, a 16.1MP BSI CMOS sensor and Full HD 1080/60i video recording. Also provided are full manual controls, a 3.0-inch LCD monitor, a built-in electronic viewfinder and compatibility with Nikon’s optional WU-1a wireless mobile adapter for image/video transfer. The P530 is available in black for $449.95.

Coolpix S9700. With a 30x optical zoom (25–750mm equivalent) and 60x dynamic fine zoom, this compact model offers lens-shift VR image stabilization, built-in Wi-Fi for transferring images to a smart device and uploading them to web, and built-in GPS that lets the user see the exact longitude and latitude of where an image or video was captured. Other S9700 specs include: a 16MP BSI CMOS sensor; Full HD 1080/60i video capture using hybrid VR image stabilization for stable recording, even while handheld; and a 921k-dot, 3.0-inch OLED monitor. It’s also offered in black and red. $349.95.

Coolpix P340. Using a 5x (24–120mm equivalent) wide-angle to telephoto zoom range plus 10x dynamic fine zoom and a super-fast f/1.8 maximum aperture lens with lens-shift VR image stabilization, the pocketable P340 can produce 12.2MP photos and Full HD 1080/60i video with low noise. The f/1.8 lens gives users the ability to control depth of field and shoot in a wider variety of lighting conditions. Also featured are: full manual controls; RAW (NRW) image capture; a 921k-dot, 3.0-inch LCD monitor; and built-in Wi-Fi. The P340 launches this month in black for $379.95. nikonusa.com
