Gardena, CA—General Imaging (GIC), the worldwide exclusive licensee of GE digital cameras, revealed the newest additions to its Power Pro and Smart series. Included in GIC’s lineup are new bridge cameras—the GE X550 and GE X600—new CMOS sensor cameras and core models that offer the company’s latest technology.

Power Pro X600
. For the more serious photographer looking for higher power and performance, the X600 touts a 25x zoom lens, a 14.4 megapixel CMOS sensor and Full HD 1080p recording capabilities. With its Aptina A-Pix CMOS pixel technology, the X600 features a 26mm wide-angle lens and continuous high-speed shooting of 10 fps in full resolution. It’s equipped with improved HDR+, combining three consecutive exposures into one optimized photo, and a new multi-exposure function that combines six action shots into one image. Also offered are an electronic viewfinder and a 2.7-inch LCD. The GE X600 will be offered in black and white in the spring. $199.99.

Power Pro X550. Featuring an electronic viewfinder, 16 megapixels, optical image stabilization and a 15x, 27mm wide-angle lens, the X550 also offers object tracking capabilities to automatically focus on moving objects, which was not available in the previous model. It will be available in black and in white in the spring. $149.99.

Smart Series C1440W.
Its intuitive features are designed to produce quality photos no matter the level of the shooter’s expertise. Automatic optical image stabilization adjusts for unintentional camera movements while face autoexposure enhances facial features detected by the camera for true subject highlighting. Other features include: the use of AA batteries; 14.1 megapixels; a 4x, 27mm wide-angle lens; HD 720p movie recording; and a choice of black, red or silver bodies. $69.99.

J1458W. This highly affordable, lithium-ion battery camera, is equipped with a 5x optical zoom, 14.1 megapixels and a 2.7-inch screen. Its easy-to-use features include smile detection, in which the shutter automatically releases when the subject’s smile appears, and pan capture, where wide-view photos are produced by panning the camera to create a seamless panoramic.
