Mountain View, CA—Eyefi announced that artist and influential photographer Jeremy Cowart will join the company in an advisory role to guide its strategic product and user-engagement efforts in the area of digital photography. Eyefi is a provider of digital camera connectivity solutions, photography apps and services.

“Jeremy’s insight into the role of photography in society and how its impact can be magnified through technology is without equal,” said Matt DiMaria, CEO of Eyefi. “He is passionate about helping others express themselves through photography and social media to be a positive force in the world. That is core to our mission as a company, and we look forward to Jeremy’s contribution to our future.”

Named the “most influential photographer on the web” by the Huffington Post and Forbes, Cowart is an accomplished and acclaimed artist. His interest started with painting, but he quickly fell in love with the entire creative process. In 2001, he founded his own graphic design company, Pixelgrazer. In 2005, Cowart turned his focus to photography, and in a relatively short amount of time earned the respect of artists and photographers. As an influencer in the industry, he sees photography as a natural extension of his passion for the arts, and he has taken portraits of many familiar names, including Taylor Swift, Kelly Clarkson, Tim Tebow, the Kardashians and Sting.

“I’m excited to engage with Eyefi, a leading innovator in digital imaging,” said Cowart. “It’s great to have the opportunity to blend the visual arts and technology for photographers at every level to enjoy regardless if they shoot with a pro level DSLR or a smartphone.”

Eyefi, a pioneer in digital camera connectivity with its Wi-Fi enabled memory cards, also provides a solution for taking photos with DSLRs, Wi-Fi and smartphone cameras that automatically organizes and syncs pictures across mobile devices and desktops as soon as the picture is taken. It launched its Eyefi Cloud service last year, a solution that accommodates any photo, any camera, anytime. eyefi.com
