Business Forum Imaging Cologne: Memories and Markets in Motion

2033

Cologne, Germany—photokina will again present Business Forum Imaging Cologne. Held on January 28–29, 2015, the sixth edition of this event features the theme “Memories and Markets in Motion.” The conference and mini trade show are organized by International Contact and Photo Imaging News, with partners that include the Photographic Industry Association (Photoindustrie-Verband) and the international market research company GfK.

The theme of the conference describes the changes that are redefining the rules of the photo-imaging business. “While the lower end of the camera market is fading away,” notes the conference organizers, “demand for advanced cameras as well as new capturing devices such as action and wearable cams is increasing. 4K UHD video is becoming a new camera feature, allowing consumers not only to enjoy their videos in unprecedented quality on compatible TV sets, but also to extract printable photos from their video films and convert them into photos, photo books and other picture products.”

For manufacturers, imaging service providers and retailers, these developments call for innovation. “They do not only need to guide the consumers though the maze of possibilities for capturing and enjoying still and moving pictures, they also have to create new services that make the abundance of pictures scattered on different devices, storage media, Internet platforms and social networks available for viewing, sharing and printing.”

The international speakers at Business Forum Imaging Cologne 2015 will share their innovative ideas on how to turn the images and videos into keepsake products. Complementing the conference program, the event’s sponsors will present their products and services in a “Touch & Try” environment before and after the speeches as well as during breaks. Attendees will have the opportunity to discuss the concepts with the sponsor’s reps.

The conference will open each day with a distinguished keynote speaker who will share a vision of the world of memories and markets in motion. In different consecutive tracks, the conference will feature developments and trends for all facets of the imaging business. These will include marketing, leveraging the Internet of things, new capturing devices and technologies, and omni-channel retailing.

Hosted by photokina, a dinner event near the conference venue on January 28 will provide more networking opportunities for attendees, speakers and sponsors.
