Face Detection Technology continues to make headlines and Fuji has been at the forefront. They introduced several new digital cameras at the CES and the F40fd caught our eye. This 8-megapixel model includes Fuji’s own version of Face Detection Technology which can detect up to 10 human faces in a scene in as little as 5/100’s of a second. Add
in a Dual Shot Mode that takes two shots in rapid succession, one with flash and one without, letting the user decide on the best picture. Expect an MSRP of $299.
The point-and-shoot digital camera market continues to showcase models that feature higher pixel counts, lower prices and some very high-end feature sets. Making sure the consumer understands them all will be key for retailers moving forward.
